Mobile Digital Video Configuration Options
Tethered (MDV2)
The ruggedized Mobile Digital Video Recorder (MDVR) is tethered to an on-board computer or laptop. The MDVR ecodes the incoming audio and video signals utilizing MPEG4. Eight (8) alarm inputs allow for trigger-based recording and as all of the video encoding is handled bu the MDVR, fewer resources are taken from the on-board computer system.
Standalone (MDV3)
The MDV3 has its own power supply (separate from the on-board computer). The system's 1.5 DIN control head features a 3.5" touch screen LCD and illuminated soft-touch control buttons. This control head enables the MDV3 to function entirely on its own. It's designed for those applications where separation from the on-board computer is a must— where no vehicle computer has been installed.
- Fast boot-up time (approx 30 seconds)
- Triggered to boot with vehicle's ignition
- Simple PIN login
- Video/audio begins recording immediately when emergency situations arise (triggered)
Standalone Hybrid
Utilizing the full-featured MobileVid touch screen-friendly software loaded on the on-board computer or laptop, the Mobile Digital Video Recorder (MDVR) provides full recording and playback functionality leveraging the on-board computer's large LCD. The optional control head can be used as a backup or additional monitor if required.
- The MDVR has its own separate power supply so the recording function of the MDVR will continue to operate even if the on-board computer goes down
- When the on-board computer is restored, the control functions identify and interface with the MDVR to ensure that no recordings are lost
- Detailed bookmarks can be added using the on-board computer's keyboard
- Live video streaming using the on-board computer's broadband data network
